Random thoughts from a 3 am feeding (Part 2)

by

Early morning feedings are getting easier. Just don’t cross me between 5 am-7 am when I’m at the peak of my slow, robotic movements. H calls me “Zombie” at that time, and he has no idea how close he is to the truth. Cross me and I will eat your brains out. Just kidding. Maybe not.

Hawwww!Thundercats… hawwww!!!!! Timmy’s beginning to gurgle. Ack! It’s so cute. He gurgles and does little humming sounds when his crib mobile is playing, when his Nonna hums to him, when I read to him. I can’t wait to have a conversation with little bub.

Experts say it’s never too early to read to your baby. You could even read to babies while in the tummy. I’ve been doing my share of reading to Timmy, though I’ve been alternating between two books only. The first is “Guess How Much I Love You” and all its Nutbrown Hare cuteness. The second is “What to Expect in the First Year.” Reading it is like hitting two birds with one stone — I get to educate myself on, er, what to expect in the first year, and I make conversation with Timmy too. I won’t be surprised if this inspires him to be a pediatrician someday. Oh Mommy, only three weeks old and anticipating the baby’s future already.

Did you wear an abdominal binder post-pregnancy? It seems to be helping me. Maybe it’s psychological. Because I don’t feel my tummy flab sloshing all over the place (not a pretty picture, is it?), I feel tighter, fitter. Now if only a binder would do the same for my double chin.

Breastfeeding friggin’ hurts in the beginning, but you do get the hang of it. There have been moments when I felt I couldn’t give anymore milk because I just felt so sore. Proper latching takes practice. And when you’ve got a frequently hungry baby boy, you do get to practice a lot. It also means a lot of sore, cracked, holy-cow-that-hurts moments. But it all pays off in the end. I’ve gotten the hang of it and I enjoy breastfeeding my son. I really wish I can keep this up for as long as I can. And I’ve been losing weight too, thanks to breastfeeding. Double win!

Let’s romance the rain again. When it’s quiet at home, the baby’s still sleeping, you’ve got some downtime and the rain’s still pouring outside, senti mode goes on. Hence the poem in the previous post. And hence another sharing of rain-related goodness. Thanks to Ginge for sharing this with me. I’m now addicted to Michael Tomlinson’s music.

New Moon Madnessssss. This is looking so much better than Twilight. I cannot wait. And all those abs hotness! Goodness. Edward’s looking hotter in this sequel, but my heart still belongs to Jacob. W00t!

P.S. I’ll bloghop as soon as I learn how to manage my time better. :) Hugs to you guys!

Hooray, you’re breastfeeding! Yeah, it does hurt in the beginning but once you get used to it, it’s actually quite relaxing for both you and your baby. :) Timmy’s looking sooooo adorable. :)

Thanks Karen! I’m beginning to get the hang of breastfeeding now :)

Hooray for breastfeeding! As krn said, it only hurts in the beginning. In a few days or weeks, it won’t hurt anymore. And then you’ll start finding it’s super-convenient (no need to lug around bottles, formula, et cetera, et cetera when you’re with Timmy!). :)

Does Timmy make squeaking sounds when he’s asleep yet? For me that was one of the cutest things when Rafa was newborn! I have so much video of him squeaking away, haha!

I didn’t really read much to Rafa when he was newborn but I talked to him a lot. Now he likes being read to, and he loves looking at the pictures in his books. He also likes tasting and biting his books. I wonder when he’ll figure out books are for reading, not for eating, hehe!

And yes I wore a binder. I was CS, and it really made the pain of standing and walking tolerable.

Yes! He does make squeaking and sighing sounds. They’re so cute and funny! :)

Hey, is there such a thing as an edible book? That’d be perfect for Rafa. Heehee. 😀

I didn’t wear a binder, maybe that’s why I’m still flabby there … I did read to B a lot and he likes his books now …. do visit me when you have time … take care

super cute ni Timmy! I can only imagine how you are at 5 am. I already have a post natal binder, my sister bought it by mistake so i guess i’ll be wearing one after the delivery.

I’m also excited to see New Moon na… i wish i get to see it before the baby comes out, so close to my due date kasi.

*Hugs to both you and Timmy!*

Oo nga ‘no! Well, who knows? It may be the movie you see right before giving birth. 😀 The last movie I saw was “Up.” 😀

I don’t know if this is true to all pero twing may baby sa kwarto namin, yung liit nyang yun, siya pinakamalaki sakop sa kama. Kaming mag asawa naman e siksikan sa isang tabi. Ganun din siguro kayo ngayon no?

    Cute ni baby!!!

Tama ka dyan Tito Rolly! In fact, kaming 2 lang ni Timmy nasa bed. Si H nasa sofa. Hehehe.
