Destination Panic

Have you completed your Christmas shopping yet? Or should the question be: have you started Christmas shopping yet?

I haven’t. I’m already feeling the panic settle in. My husband has generously offered to do the shopping for me. I really appreciate it, but I want to feel that Christmas shopping rush! Ah well, we shall see.

How do you shop for Christmas presents? Do you just wing it when you’re at the mall or do you carry a list with you?

A friend of mine used to plot all her Christmas gifts for friends and relatives on Microsoft Excel. Each worksheet was labeled with a year, with a list of presents she had gotten them that year. This was her way of making sure she didn’t give someone the same present she had gotten him the year before. How’s that for smart, organized and a tad O.C.?

I have to figure out how to feel a little of that Christmas rush. If I don’t, I’ll just arm my husband with my Christmas list. I hope he knows what he has gotten himself into!

Did my shopping early, like in late November pa lang. But for my gifts for my ofcmates, i baked abt 200+ cookies and distributed them in ziplock bags na lang. Everyone was happy!

I do mine really early. I usually start May and buy some when I travel abroad. And yes, I also do the Excel bit but don’t get to complete it when it gets crazy during the last few days before Christmas!

Wow! I should do that. Shop in small doses so I don’t get overwhelmed when the season arrives.

this year since i knew i was giving birth in december, i tried to do it early…i simplified by giving family gifts instead of individual ones…what i gave my relatives: a big ceramic christmas bowl filled with drinks the family will enjoy during the winter(mexican hot chocolate, starbucks coffee, herbal teas), i baked a pumpkin loaf for each family then sprinkled candy canes and chocolates inside the bowl, i also added 2 christmas kitchen towels before wrapping the whole thing w clear cellophane…i actually felt like i saved money this way…and i know they will appreciate and use the gifts

I’ve made the crazy decision to make most my Christmas gifts this year. To save money, I’m using materials I already have on hand. So my Destination Panic Place isn’t so much shopping for gifts, but finishing them all! I’m sewing every night after work (tote bags, lavender sachets, scarves, you name it!, and falling asleep with thread and bits of cloth in my hair. Kind of chaotic, but at least I’m enjoying myself! :) Good luck with your gifts!

Two hours more to go, then I’m off to do my christmas gift shopping. ^_^
I am a panic buyer too. I don’t make list (but I’m sure I don’t the same gift year after year). But I already scouted malls and stalls weeks ago (I now know where I will buy these and that).

Hay, for sure I’ll be caught in a heavy traffic after shopping… *sigh*

I like this topic toni but i never done yet my xmas list all i have to do is to dig my attic and look the vintage things that ive never use for ages and i found a few things that possible for gift giving idea with less cost. i bought a basket bread last year and a xmastree plate decor and i’m thinking adding mama sita powder cooking mixed is a nice give away.

This monday maybe i add some for children gifts to my filipina friends in here. i guess the SALE time is a perfect midmonth of december to shop.
I got crazy every time i went to the shopping mall, i thought i will shop for giveaways then after a 3 hours of vagabond i ended buying diapers that is in a big sale promo and milk.

nakakaluka ang pasko! goodluck for your wise shopping list.
