An Extra Hospital Bag
And so the bags are by the door. That’s Timmy’s bag on the right, the cute striped one. And whose bag is that on the left? Is that the Mommy bag? Nope, my bag is still in my bedroom since I still keep taking things in and out of it. Is that the Daddy bag? Nope, it’s also still in our bedroom. So whose ever-so-ready blue bag is that?
It’s the grandmother’s bag! Nonna (as Timmy will be calling my Mom) has prepared her own bag for the hospital too. Can you guess what’s in it?
Part of making our few days’ stay at the hospital as comfortable as possible is to have these items on hand. My Mom’s got paper towels, disposable cups, plates and utensils, dishwashing liquid, a sponge, sandwich bags, anti-bacterial soap, anti-bacterial wipes, hand towels… and I think she plans to add more stuff too. Not in the picture yet are: alcohol and disinfectant room spray. I wouldn’t be surprised if she had a “Welcome to the family, Timmy!” banner hidden somewhere in there.
“Are we having a picnic?,” H & I teased her when she showed us the contents. My Mom’s like a Girl Scout that way — always ready! What if guests bring food? What if H gets hungry and doesn’t have a plate to eat on? My Dad walked into the foyer when we were checking out the bag. I asked him if he had a Lolo’s bag too. He didn’t answer, but I think it got some wheels turning in his head!

LOL, Toni–when you said that “not in the picture yet” was “alcohol…” I thought, huh? Like vodka? Rum? Champagne to toast the new addition to the family? Ahaha. Clearly with my birthday coming up, you know where my mind is!
