Weekend Soiree #56: A game of comment interaction

The game is easy! I will ask a question. The first person who comments will answer my question, and will leave a question for the next person to answer. This next person will answer that question, and leave a question for the next next person to answer. I am sure you get it!

To make things more fun, the questions have to reflect the chosen theme. For example, if the theme is NEWS, all questions should relate to that topic. Do you get your news online or on print? Did you cut out any part of the funnies/comics when you were a kid? As much as possible, let’s not repeat the questions for added fun! You are welcome to play more than once.

Let’s go crawl and coo with our fifty-sixth weekend soiree.

The theme: BABIES

The question: What were you like as a baby?

My “maver” tells me that I was pretty “low maintenance” as a child, not fussy at all. I was also a carbon copy of my “faver” thus my name.

How many babies would you like to have?

I always said that 3 – 4 kids would be great. Now that I have 3 boys, I think I’m happy already with my munchkins but it doesn’t mean that I can’t have another. :)

What’s the latest baby “invention”or product that you wished you had when you had your first child?

I’m going to cheat a little. There was this one gadget that I saw recently that I wish I had after I had my second child. Its this trolley/roller thing you attach to the back rod of your stroller so a bigger child can stand there. That way you only need one stroller and can push both kids at the same time. This would have saved us a lot of money since we were forced to buy 2 strollers after baby number 2 arrived.

Question : What was your baby’s first word?

It is not the latest but it is what I wanted to so badly when I had my first child – a rocking chair. I was a single mother then and I was on a very tight budget so I was not able to buy one for myself.

What was the first boo-boo you made when you had your first baby? I laugh when I remember the time that my daughter had colic and she was crying incessantly. I also cried, I panicked, and called my mom.

Oops, Cookie replied faster than me. So here is my reply to her question.

My baby’s first word was “mama”.

And my question is still the same. What was the first boo-boo you made when you had your first baby? I laugh when I remember the time that my daughter had colic and she was crying incessantly. I also cried, I panicked, and called my mom.

  6. Rach (Heart of Rachel) Says:

I remember panicking a little when my son was having continuous hiccups. My yaya said to put a piece of string from his cloth lampin (used as “burping” cloth) on the baby’s forehead. I said it was a crazy idea and it wouldn’t work. Yaya did it anyway and I was astounded when it worked. Ha ha! It was just a coincidence, of course. :)

Q: Do you have a baby picture (yours or any of your children) in your wallet?

  7. CandyQ Says:

I have a baby picture of myself at 3 months old while being carried by my maternal grandmother, one of my hubby during his christening and one of my son when he was about six months old and looking like a butterball! :-)

Were you scared when you gave your baby his/her first bath? How was it? I remember how terrified I was of dropping him!

  8. Tinster Says:

i wasn’t scared until he cried! at that point, i was scrambling to finish quickly.

how many names did you think of for your baby?

  9. mariaR Says:

Hello everyone! I came up with one name for a girl for a long time-Amanda (before i even met my hubs) and then decided to change it when i found out I’m really having a girl last year. Her name is Miranda because i was so inspired with the LOTR movie star actress Miranda Otto(Hollywood name). I thought she’s strikingly pretty-she’s the niece of a king in the movie and had the feeling for Aragorn.Anyways…

Do you get a chance to get away from your baby for awhile and yet yearning to go home sooner because you miss your baby that much?(I know I do)*grin*

  10. rowie Says:

I’m breastfeeding (direct) exclusively, so I’m rarely away from my baby; he comes with me to work. I watched a movie (Watchmen) last night and was away from my baby for 3 hours, but I kept looking at my phone to check for texts from yaya, and I texted yaya several times to make sure they were okay. It’s really hard to be away from baby!

Is there one lesson you learned after giving birth, that you wish you had known before you gave birth?
