Swiffering our way to a dust-free home

In a previous entry, some of you asked what a Swiffer sweeper is. Here’s what it looks like:

It’s like a broom and a mop in one. When I use my broom, I find that the dust flies around with each sweeping. It gets pretty annoying. But after using this Swiffer Sweeper, I find that I don’t have that problem. Plus it gathers more dust than a broom.

And for dust on surfaces, I love the Swiffer Duster. It’s got “fluffy fibers” that trap dust instead of just pushing it around. Same problem I had with the broom. So the Swiffer products dust AND trap the dirt.

For refills of these two products, I’ve seen S&R (The Fort branch) carry Swiffer Sweeper refills. The Duster refills I get from relatives who come from the U.S. I haven’t seen any duster refills here yet. If you know where I can get some in Manila, I hope you could let me know!

What a great excuse to visit S&R. I’ll get these for my wife, and I’ll get a tub of Ben&Jerry’s for me. Good plan!

Naku there are other Swiffer products pa aside from these two. I want to get nga the Swiffer Jet Vac (not sure about the name), basta color violet yun box. Mahal lang! Enjoy your S&R experience!

should try this especially since we don’t have house help right now. you’re right with the dust just flying around when using a broom. will now go to S&R congressional and check if they have this. will let you know if i find the refills you are looking for.

It’s a great alternative to regular brooms, especially if someone is allergic to dust at home!

true, but if u use swiffer, ur tying urself to buying their refills, no? how much are they?

Yup, you can’t use the Swiffer without the wet and dry pads. I’ll check how much the refills cost the next time I got to S&R.

Hi Candice! I remember there were some Swiffer products being sold at True Value.

The broom thingie! Argh, sorry I don’t know how much it costs. I got mine from the States but that’s available locally.

Nope, it’s not washable. It’s disposable, but can hold up to many uses before discarding.

we have the swiffer mop at home. my dad was kinda wondering how we’d manage the “refills” after the stocks runs out. i just told him that maybe we could buy generic wet ones from japan home, or cut out pieces of cloth of the same side diba?

Pwede yun generic wet ones, as long as they’re big enough so they can be “clipped” onto the mop head! But the specialty of Swiffer is in its dry and wet cloths eh, more than the rod. Hope you could find refills.

We use that in the workplace where the kids are, easier and more convenient too

You could also add a rug or mat that traps dirt at the doorway like a coco mat
