Sharing a Secret Recipe experience
Secret Recipe is one of our favorite food haunts. The ambiance is relaxed and clean, the service fast and friendly, the food delightfully yummy. If you haven’t been there, maybe our orders can help convince you.

Banana Yogurt Shake for H, Fresh Watermelon Shake for Me. We chose these refreshing drinks because we were anticipating the deliciously spicy Tom Yum with prawns. They’re also great complements to the other dishes we ordered.

Noodles in Tom Yung Kung. There are some spicy dishes that burn your tongue so bad you can no longer taste the dish. Secret Recipe’s Tom Yum Kung isn’t like that. It’s super spicy and still very flavorful. If you’re a fan of ultra-spicy-hot food, try this. Dare!

Grilled BBQ chicken for me, Grilled Mushroom Chicken for H. Both were served with a salad and herb rice. Their herb rice was surprisingly flavorful but not overwhelmingly so. The BBQ sauce was too sweet for my taste, but it was still delicious.

Kid’s Burgers for Kiddy H. My husband’s voracious appetite called for a set of mini burgers which were pretty good. I enjoyed munching on the alphabet fries and forming words with them. Ha ha. Ahoy there!

Chicken Cornish. Oh my, this was incredibly salty. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to taste that way. Maybe it was just a bad day for the Cornish. I was so looking forward to this snack. I was planning on taking it home with me and munching on it while I vegged out in front of the TV. The salty cornish didn’t make that happen though.

Hi Fiber Cheesecake. Our favorite dessert! Cheesecake smothered with all kinds of nuts. The tent card on their dining table shows its nutritional facts. In a nutshell: It’s a healthy and heavenly dessert.
Here are other dishes we highly recommend. We’ve tried them during other visits.
Singapore Laksa. It’s ultra-rich in flavor, fragrance and spice. Yum yum. Watch out for your cholesterol though!
Irish Lamb Stew. If you’re visiting Secret Recipe for the first time, get this dish. It is heaven. This is my second favorite dish in the restaurant. The lamb shank is tenderly cooked and is served with vegetables, baked mashed potatoes and a bun. Just thinking about this dish makes me want to head over to Secret Recipe right now.
Black Pepper Lamb Pie. Spicy and seriously yummy. It’s so rich you’d have to share it with your friends and then fight over the last piece.
Trans Fat Free Peach Cake. Another healthy dessert. This reminded me of Crema de Fruita, only a healthier version.

My hubby and I also like the high fiber cheesecake. The last time I ate there, though…I didn’t like the meal I had. I ordered the Black Pepper Chicken and it was not so good. The Laksa and Tom Yum are good, though.

i like secret recipe’s tom yung kung too! sweet, spicy and flavorful. i thought the cheesecakes were pretty ordinary though – the ones we tried at least – not the hi fiber cheesecake, maybe we should try that next time.

Hi!
Greetings from Secret Recipe Philippines!
What a great post! It is with responses and blogs such as yours that propels us to do better – for us to serve you in the best possible way. We thank you for your warm comments and suggestions.
I am pleased to inform you that our fourth branch opened just this month of December! It is located at Level 2 of the Mega Atirum, the newest expansion wing of SM Megamall.
Likewise, reading from your thread, I gather that your readers are fond of Asian Classic dishes. By January of 2008, two fresh addition to this exciting line-up of authentic Asian Cusine are Nasi Lemak of Singapore and Phad Thai Noodles of Thailand – expect to get the oh-so-local flavor that will hopefully transport you to the country where it originated.
Have A Blessed New Year Ahead! See you soon in one of the branches! ^_^
Warm Regards,
Jennifer Tan
