Good night shiny sink! Good morning shiny sink!

Before going to bed, I always struggle with doing the dishes. The procrastinating me wants to put it off for the morning, the neat freak wants to clean the dishes and sink right away. What usually wins is neat freak me. Not only is it more hygienic, but waking up to a clean, shiny sink is a cheery way to kick off the day.
It’s simple anyway. Wash and dry your dishes. Fill the sink with hot water and pour a cup of bleach in it. After an hour, drain the sink. Rinse well. Scrub with your favorite detergent. Don’t mix bleach and cleanser — that’s poisonous! Rinse well. Then make your sink shine with a window or mirror cleaner. Ta-da! Clean and shiny. I got these tips from FlyLady. I super love her cleaning and decluttering tips.
The last thing you want to welcome your day with is a household chore, right? Uh-uh! So wash those dishes before sleeping. Shine that sink too. A little grumbling in the evening is better than a lot of grumbling come breakfast time, especially when you’re caught in the morning rush.

My husband feels the same way about washing the dishes before going to bed. Sometimes I just want to leave it there for the morning especially when there’s a lot of dirty dishes, but I’ve learned that it’s a downer to wake up to a household chore.

I hate washing the dishes, yes, but I also hate a dirty and disorganized environment, and so just like you, the neat me is always on the winning side, and I wash dishes immediately after everyone has eaten. We don’t have a housekeeper, I am the sole housekeeper in our house. True, it’s better to grumble before sleeping than waking up to see a full and dirty sink and kitchen.

I always try to do the dishes right after I eat. Otherwise they will just sit and sit and more will pile up and in the end it will end up being more work then if I had just taken care of it in the first place.

I opted for a dishwasher but sometimes, things still pile up at the sink…but I do like it when everything in the kitchen is clean, like your sink here! =D Linis!

dear wifely steps,
i stumbled onto ur blog from a friend’s blog roll, and noticed that you are a fan of twilight. i’ve been reading this interesting salon article http://www.salon.com/books/review/2008/07/30/Twilight/index.html
which doesn’t paint a particularly positive assessment of bella, who lives for edward (so the article says).
so as a fan, and a young progressive (i assume) woman, why the attraction to this book, if in fact its female protagonist has this obsessive love? or was that the point?
i thought girls wouldn’t be attracted to this kind of female lead anymore…
thanks!
