Lasang Pinoy on TV!

Lasang Pinoy (“Filipino Taste” loosely translated) is a monthly food blogging event done to promote Filipino food. There is a different theme for each round. I had the privilege of hosting one round called Oh My Gulay! (LP 18) — Filipino veggie dishes. Other themes from Lasang Pinoy were Loco Over Coco (LP 24), Rice to the Challenge (LP 22), Pinoy Christmas Around the World (LP 5).

One of the interesting themes we had was LP 12′s Distinctly Pinoy with a Twang. Manang Kusinera shared her Bibingka Cake recipe during this round. Think of a two-layered bibingka with macapuno in between then frosted with icing. Definitely different right? Sounds delicious too!

This unique recipe caught the eye of a segment producer from a show called “100% Pinoy.” They wanted to feature the dessert in one episode! Since ManangK is based in the States, one of the LP family members Chef KC volunteered to help re-create the recipe. Watch the video:

Great work Chef KC! And congratulations Manang K! Congratulations to Lasang Pinoy! Read more about LP on TV in Ces’ blog.
