How to cope with work
I got this from a forwarded email. Thanks for the laughs, notsquare! It was a great way to start my lunch break.
Now, which phase are YOU in?
———-
Phase 1

You are listening to Stevie Wonder.
(Your first day at work and all is fine and great)
Phase 2

You are listening to House music.
(After a while you are so busy that you are not sure if you coming or going anymore)
Phase 3

You are listening to Metal.
(This is what you feel like at month end)
Phase 4

You are listening to Hip Hop.
(You become bloated due to stress, feel sluggish and suffer from constipation)
Phase 5

You are listening to Gangsta Rap.
(After more time passes, your eyes start to twitch, you forget what a “good hair day” feels like as you just fall out of bed and load up on caffeine!!)
And finally…
Phase 6 kicks in

You are listening to Techno (on Ecstasy)
The truth – (how all employees end up eventually…. ha ha ha)

I’ve been with the company for more than six years, and on most days, it still feels like phase 1. Am I lucky or what?! hehe But we do occasionally experience Phases 1 to 6 (mostly when new projects arrive), but it comes and goes (meaning, we eventually get the hang of it), and then we are back to phase 1.

Haha, with my kind of work, it only endures until Phase 4, straight to Phase 6, no more Phase 5. And starts back at Phase 1. Editing is a brain-draining work. Especially editing Workbooks for Highschool, lets me get back to the days when i was still in school. Good thing I am enjoying it.

Normally, I’m in Phase 1. But it’s vicious in general. Like a roller coaster ride. Reasonably exciting. Funny pictures!
