Wedding bells for a college friend

Jan's illustration

My dear friend Angie got married last Friday the 13th. It boggled me at first, but then, that’s Angie’s playful personality shining through. :D We’ve been friends since 1994, so that makes for quite a number of years of good friendship. The girl with the Peter-Pan-curiosity and pixie smile made for a beautiful bride. Congratulations to Jan and Anj!

The Manila chapter of our college barkada was complete. Yey! We pretty much joked and laughed throughout the reception. Yeah, we had a fun table.

I found it pleasantly weird that we were talking about household gadgets for a good half hour or so. Memories of talking about Philosophy oral exams and McDo study sessions filled my head. Now we were talking about the 9-Minute Marinator and other home TV shopping buys. Haha. :D I want a 9-minute Marinator because of the gushing some of my friends did. ;)

Now check out this wedding cake:

Pretty wedding cake

Cute isn’t it? :) *cues Under the Sea from Little Mermaid*

Now do you know the tradition of pulling out wishes from the wedding cake? Some wedding cakes have little ribbons at its base. On the end of each ribbon is a wish just for you. Guess what I pulled out?

My friends and I cracked up!

Mr. and Mrs. Jan Camina

Congratulations again Jan and Anj! Hayyyy, the baby is now a lady. Still can’t believe you’re married, Anj. :)

LHC plus one more!

A great group of friends plus one more! I’m looking forward to our next get-together so we can hear Anj’s stories of newlywed life. Best wishes to Jan and Anj! Brace yourself for one wild and wonderful adventure!

Love the pics. :) The 9MM (as we now call it) is also available at Gourdo’s (apart from home TV shopping) for the same price. We just got one for my father-in-law for Father’s Day.

Ayan! Thanks for the tip. Will check out Gourdo’s sometime.

Hi Aggy! Congratulations on your engagement! Wedding planning is an exciting and crazy process. I’d be glad to help out by answering your question.

My top of mind recommendation is MangoRed: http://www.mangored.com/ — they were the photographers at my friend’s wedding. She said they’re very creative and a little wacky — perfect for her as her personality is like that. Check out their site and see if their style suits you!

Weddings At Work (http://www.weddingsatwork.com/) has a great list of suppliers. Here’s the link to their photographers’ list: http://www.weddingsatwork.com/2008beta/wp-content/themes/WeddingsAtWork/display.php?id=59

Are you part of the W@W e-group? If not, I’d encourage you to join! I was a W@Wie and I got a lot of advice and tips from my fellow brides-to-be. You can also get inside information from them about suppliers. It was a big help.

Thank you for emailing me and sharing those kind words. I look forward to your next visit. :) By the way, I have a wedding blog that might be able to help you too: http://www.bigdayplunge.com :) Hopefully you get some tips there too.

    Congratulations again!
