Dinner at Pia Y Damaso
Pia Y Damaso is definitely one of our favorite date places. I love how cozy this Greenbelt 5 restaurant is.
In a nutshell: Cuisine is Spanish and Filipino. The food is, honestly, a hit or miss. The service is good, especially if you have the bumbling, bubbly Edsel as your server. Best to make reservations on weeknights. Ambiance is warm and cozy. Try being seated at the veranda on breezy afternoons. Quite pricey, but good for that occasional dining indulgence. Now on with the food pics!

Tubig ni Maria Clara. This soothing drink is a MUST-have. Iced cucumber juice with ginger syrup and citrus… ah. VERY refreshing and I think it’s good with any of the main dishes on the menu.

Appetizer: Snails with Chorizo and Tomatoes. H & I enjoyed this appetizer so much we forgot what it was called.
The saltiness of the chorizo, sourness of the tomatoes and sweet succulence of the snails were a great combination. Served with chunks of bread, it makes for quite a hearty appetizer.

Adobo Chicken, Pork and Liver. DIVINE. The meats are very tender and the texture of the liver mixed in with the dish’s sauce just heightens the classic adobo experience. H’s favorite, with me grabbing a spoonful or two of his adobo always.

Binagoongang Baboy. Not very good.
i’d suggest you order something else.

Dayap Cheesecake. Oh, this was one of a kind. Imagine the really fresh and sour taste of lime, with a touch of sweetness in its marmalade and the tartness of cream cheese playing with each other.

The strong medley of flavors overwhelmed me, so this wasn’t one of my favorites. But don’t let that stop you from giving this unique dessert a try!

Brazo de Mercedes. Yummy! Best for sharing since it’s quite rich. What I love about this is its meringue crust…

I’ll order this again and again and again…

Fluffy, rich and the perfect way to end a meal at Pia Y Damaso. Best with mint tea too!
There are several blogs that talk about this restaurant, so check them out and see what other dishes are being recommended. My must-tries for you are: Tubig ni Maria Clara, their Adobo and Brazo de Mercedes.

Naku, favorite ko pa naman ang Brazo de Mercedez. I really want to try this restaurant but I just can’t find the time to visit GB5. Maybe I will very soon. That Brazo was really seducing me. LOL. Thanks for sharing your food finds.
