Weekend Soiree #19: A game of comment interaction

Classroom

The first rule is easy. I will ask a question. The first person who comments will answer my question, and will leave a question for the next person to answer. This next person will answer that question, and leave a question for the next next person to answer. I am sure you get it! ;)

To make things more fun, the questions have to reflect the chosen theme. For example, if the theme is COMICS, all questions should relate to comics. Did you ever experience renting comics from your neighborhood store? Which comic book superhero rocks more: Superman or Iron Man? As much as possible, let’s not repeat the questions for added fun! You are also welcome to play more than once.

The second rule is very neighborly. After you answer and write a question, visit the person who comments right BEFORE you. If that person does not have a blog, visit any of the commenters’ blogs. When you’re at their blog, leave a comment and some nice cheer. You might make a new friend!

Let’s walk down the halls with our 19th weekend soiree.

The theme: SCHOOL

My question for Person #1: What clubs were you a member of in school?

  5. Sprittibee Says:

Sortof. I quit regular school to go to a lame prep school and it had very small numbers of students in each class. I think I ran for something and won at that school, but eventually left – so it didn’t count. I was only there for a few months.

Interesting game, Toni! We are home schoolers, so schooling is my “passion”.

Question: Do you feel that you are qualified to teach your children? Why or why not?

Sprittibee’s last blog post..La Grange and the Kentucky Hot Brown

She’s tall with a short bobcut, very intelligent, with great sense of humor (no dull moment when she teaches), taught us Math and talks very fast. She was also my advisor in high school.

Q: If you were to choose a school to go to (any school in the world), which would it be?

  11. Cookie Says:

Le Cordon Bleu in London. I’ve always wanted to go to cookery school. Even when it wasn’t fashionable yet. Right out of college, I sent out applications to several schools in New York and London. I got accepted in several but, alas, life got in the way.

Question : Which one of the following were you : class clown, class bully, teacher’s pet, or A-student?

Cookie’s last blog post..Happy 41st, My Sweet Prince

None of the above. I was the class bore, class bullied, techer’s pet peeve, and grade A-wan student.

Were you ever an activist in school, and if yes, what was your cause?

cbs’s last blog post..LOOKING BACK: ON WRITING SEX

  13. chateau a.k.a. imom Says:

I studied in an unconventional high school with a director who was very nationalistic and political. We were encouraged to be pro-active and joined protests to oust the US bases, protect the forests, fight poverty. :D

Did you hang out with a huge group of friends, or prefer to go with just a few ones?

chateau a.k.a. imom’s last blog post..Two Movies in a Week

a small group where in u can be able to converse with everybody, but it depends, if its an outing… a large group would be better for me.

Hiro’s last blog post..SUN MOON GARDEN – Shoppesville Arcade, Greenhills Shopping Center

  15. julie Says:

I hanged out with a big group of “let’s go over what was discussed awhile ago” but I also hanged out occasionally with the other group who loves to have fun. My group has wonderful friends though a bit boring at times. Studying is the most fun thing to do it seemed.

Would you “dictate” what course your child(ren) will take in college?

julie’s last blog post..Never Would I Permit This

  16. cbs Says:

@hiro and julie: No. Academic freedom should begin at home.

cbs’s last blog post..LOOKING BACK: ON WRITING SEX

  17. caryn Says:

yup. two became models and one schoolmate (not a batchmate; she was much, much younger than i) was a child-star, although now i think the term is young adult actress. she’s actually quite good too!

Q: What was your favorite baon when you were a kid? Or if you didn’t bring baon, what did you buy with your baon money?

    caryn’s last blog post..idea

  18. Gracey Says:

My baon was a zesto or (hi-c ?) and cheese whiz sandwich. When my mom had time to make something like kakanin, I’d bring those too. I loved it when I get to have leftover spaghetti and bread for baon. I also bought a lot of yema from the school canteen. Yummeeeeeh!

Q: How was your junior and senior proms?

  19. drunken lily Says:

JS proms in our school was such a bore..imagine wearing “gowns” of the same cloth with prescribed cuts, no love songs allowed (only ballroom dancing) and ending the party at midnight..well that’s what happens when conservative nuns run your school but then i’ve got a friend who haven’t even experienced proms at her school..so i guess i’m a notch luckier :D

Q: which did you enjoy most: grade school, high school or college? why?

drunken lily’s last blog post..kiss and tell

  20. kreez Says:

I think i enjoyed college the most because i just feel like i have found my balance (between academics and extra curricular activities) when I was in the University and its a plus that I was older by then and my parents were less strict.

Q: What would you prefer, a written or an oral examination and why?

kreez’s last blog post..Goedemorgen! Good Morning!

  21. Jen Says:

If we’re talking about the time when I was still in school, I preferred the written exams. Especially for the Gen Ed (General Education) subjects. (it’s not like you can do oral exams for engineering subjects) I just had really good memory then, never had trouble memorizing information. I could memorize pages of stuff and be able to say/write them all verbatim.

Did you ever have a huge thing (crush) for a professor? Describe how you felt then.

Jen’s last blog post..WS 35: Going back to Church

  22. Meeya Says:

back in high school, our whole class (all girls kasi kami) had a crush on our seminarian Religion teacher. i guess, aside from being gwapo and all, it’s the lure of his “untouchability” that held the most appeal for us. right before his class starts, half of the girls in the classroom would all be in the CR putting on powder or angel’s breath, haha! and then you can literally see the whole class all googly-eyed and transfixed with every word our teacher uttered. siyempre, kasama ako dun, haha!

would you encourage your kid(s) to go to the same school(s) you did?

    Meeya’s last blog post..Pinoy Invasion

  23. Toni Says:

For sentimental purposes, I’d say yes. But truth is I know of schools which have better curriculums (tama ba ang plural), so maybe not anymore. :(

Did you ever become best friends with a seatmate?
