I loved my pet dog because he was so sweet. Whenever I am tired and get home really late, he would come and squeeze himself in the chair I am in. Seeing him makes me laugh, hence destresses me

What do you love most about your pet?

Oh the list I could make!! We have a chinchilla, so he is so adorable and soft, but I love it most when he is in a playful mood because not only is he amusing to watch as he goes running around the living room, but he is also really loving and affectionate then.

Do you think pets are a member of the family or just a domesticated animal?

Yes Dogs and animals are such pure hearts that I have no doubt that they go straight up to Heaven. Or as most people now say, they go to the Rainbow Connection where they wait for you so you can go to heaven together.

My growing up years are full of my “pet memories”. I had countless dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, turtles, birds and fish. Of course I had my share of crying-my-heart-out over the deaths of my beloved pets, with ‘funerals’, and as loving tributes, our home (front lawn and backyard) became our very own pet cemetary. I too, had to let go of some pets, but I made sure I gave them to friends and family with whom I was sure they would be as loved and cared for, as they would have been if they were still with me. I once had a dog who gave birth to a litter of 10! and the puppies were all girls! I obviously had to ‘share’ them and have them ‘adopted’ by loving homes. I gave them to people I was close to, so I had ‘access’ to them anytime. =)

In my parents’ house back home, we still have dogs, a cat, a hamster, birds, and fish. But as I live in a small flat, I am not allowed to keep any pets, my landlord and contract doesn’t allow. Maybe one day when I have my a house of my very own, I’ll make sure it has a big yard, where my big dog(s) can run free.

Personally, I don’t. But then again I don’t have a pet, so I can’t really understand why people can be swept away by branded items for their pets. Buying luxurious things for other people, yes, I get. For pets, not quite!

We owned an aruwana or aruana. I don’t know if this is considered a pet. I think most people celebrate their dog’s birthday. My SIL does – birthday cake, ice cream, party hats. She even invited some neighbors and friends with dogs.

Do you think it’s practical to buy expensive things for your pet – say, a LV carrier?

heehee. perhaps the best compliment my dog shiro ever got was that she was very ‘protective’ of our family. in truth, i think she was just ‘mapili’; she didn’t like anyone else other than our immediate family petting her or even getting too close. she also refused to leave us alone with visitors. my dad said that she and one of our other dogs, Puff were the best chaperones he could ever have asked for his daughters! they passed on just last year and i still miss them both! sad

do you think ‘pet cafes’ or dressing your pets up are great or ridiculous ideas?
