Weekend Soiree #15: A game of comment interaction

The first rule is easy. I will ask a question. The first person who comments will answer my question, and will leave a question for the next person to answer. This next person will answer that question, and leave a question for the next next person to answer. I am sure you get it!
To make things more fun, the questions have to reflect the chosen theme. For example, if the theme is PAINTINGS, all questions should relate to paintings. Have you ever had your portrait painted? If you were Mona Lisa, how would you have smiled for Da Vinci? As much as possible, let’s not repeat the questions for added fun! You are also welcome to play more than once.
The second rule is optional. After you answer and write a question, visit the person who comments right after you. If that person does not have a blog, visit the next next person who answers. When you’re at their blog, leave a comment and some nice cheer. You might make a new friend!
Let’s bark, meow and tweet for the fifteenth weekend soiree!
The theme: PETS
My question for Person #1: Would you rather have a kangaroo or a zebra for a pet?
April 5th, 2008 at 7:04 am
A zebra because
1. It looks as if it smells better
2. I think the space that we have is not ideal for a kangaroo to hop around. It’s still too small for a zebra but I think the latter could be better persuaded to stay put
The only pets I ever owned were 2 baby turtles called Snooky and Albert. Did you have pets growing up?
April 5th, 2008 at 8:03 am
i always had a cat since i was 3 years old. even when i was yet in gradeschool, i cleaned kitty poops in our house because my family never did approve of them, so they tried to discourage me by letting me clean up all the mess. but that was part of kitty loving which i embraced with my whole heart.
do you own a pet now? if not, what kind of animal would you like to pet?
April 5th, 2008 at 9:39 am
Yes. a fake labrador- we call her a “cobrador”
Have you had pets that turned out to become pests?
April 5th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
No, fortunately most of our pets were very loving. Specially my dog Wiggle, a shih tzu breed that we’ve had for seven years. He was the most loving dog ever. I remember one time I was very upset and crying in my bed and he came up to me with a small towel in his mouth and laid the towel in front of me as if saying “Here wipe your tears, I’m here”. He stayed with me the whole night until I fell asleep. I cry every time I remember this.
What was your most unforgettable experience with your pet?
April 5th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
I was 17 when I had a dog named iggy. One day he was so sick my dad asked me to go and get the vet. The vet could not come with me so he just gave me the syringe with med and instructed me on how to inject the dog. When I got home, the sick dog excitedly ran towards me and in the process hit his head on the concrete fence. Groggy with a bloodied head and mucus coming out of his nose, he sat on my lap and before I could inject him he died. In his memory all my dogs after him, he or she, were named iggy.
Q. What the priciest thing you ever bought for your pet?
April 5th, 2008 at 8:27 pm
@cbs – That is so sad! (I got weepy imagining your dog…)
A: His leash. Gah, I shudder thinking about how much it cost! And it was just a leash! (well, it came with a collar) When I left the store I remember thinking, “Why the hell did I pick this kind of leash and collar?” Hay. I just love my dog (even if I did think a couple times that maybe we would both be better off if we gave him to another family; glad my dad wouldn’t hear of it) and I don’t want him using no ugly, inexpensive leash.
Q: What’s the best compliment that your pet had ever gotten?
April 5th, 2008 at 11:42 pm
heehee. perhaps the best compliment my dog shiro ever got was that she was very ‘protective’ of our family. in truth, i think she was just ‘mapili’; she didn’t like anyone else other than our immediate family petting her or even getting too close. she also refused to leave us alone with visitors. my dad said that she and one of our other dogs, Puff were the best chaperones he could ever have asked for his daughters! they passed on just last year and i still miss them both! sad
do you think ‘pet cafes’ or dressing your pets up are great or ridiculous ideas?
April 6th, 2008 at 1:28 am
do you think
April 6th, 2008 at 3:00 am
We owned an aruwana or aruana. I don’t know if this is considered a pet. I think most people celebrate their dog’s birthday. My SIL does – birthday cake, ice cream, party hats. She even invited some neighbors and friends with dogs.
Do you think it’s practical to buy expensive things for your pet – say, a LV carrier?
April 6th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Personally, I don’t. But then again I don’t have a pet, so I can’t really understand why people can be swept away by branded items for their pets.
Buying luxurious things for other people, yes, I get. For pets, not quite!
If you have a pet: Have you ever given a pet away?
If you don’t have a pet: Why don’t you have a pet?

My growing up years are full of my “pet memories”. I had countless dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, turtles, birds and fish. Of course I had my share of crying-my-heart-out over the deaths of my beloved pets, with ‘funerals’, and as loving tributes, our home (front lawn and backyard) became our very own pet cemetary. I too, had to let go of some pets, but I made sure I gave them to friends and family with whom I was sure they would be as loved and cared for, as they would have been if they were still with me. I once had a dog who gave birth to a litter of 10! and the puppies were all girls! I obviously had to ‘share’ them and have them ‘adopted’ by loving homes. I gave them to people I was close to, so I had ‘access’ to them anytime. =)
In my parents’ house back home, we still have dogs, a cat, a hamster, birds, and fish. But as I live in a small flat, I am not allowed to keep any pets, my landlord and contract doesn’t allow. Maybe one day when I have my a house of my very own, I’ll make sure it has a big yard, where my big dog(s) can run free.

Oooops I forgot to ask my question! *sorry*
Do you believe that all dogs (or all pets) go to Heaven?
April 8th, 2008 at 11:16 am
Yes
Dogs and animals are such pure hearts that I have no doubt that they go straight up to Heaven. Or as most people now say, they go to the Rainbow Connection where they wait for you so you can go to heaven together.
What do you love most about your pet?
meekerz’s last blog post..we’re gonna play frisbee

What do you love most about your pet?
Oh the list I could make!!
We have a chinchilla, so he is so adorable and soft, but I love it most when he is in a playful mood because not only is he amusing to watch as he goes running around the living room, but he is also really loving and affectionate then.
Do you think pets are a member of the family or just a domesticated animal?

I loved my pet dog because he was so sweet. Whenever I am tired and get home really late, he would come and squeeze himself in the chair I am in. Seeing him makes me laugh, hence destresses me

If your pet could talk, what do you think it would tell you most often?
