Edi Gathegi cast as Laurent in Twilight movie
Edi Gathegi has been cast to play Laurent, one of the antagonists in the upcoming movie, Twilight.
Laurent is one of the nomadic vampires who feed on humans. Along with Victoria and James, he brings tension and an interesting turn of events to the Cullen clan and of course, Bella.
You may have seen Edi Gathegi in the TV series House and the movie Gone Baby Gone.
My thoughts on this casting? Look at his eyes. Picture them red. Then run with your life! I can’t wait to see how Edi Gathegi will bring life to the intriguing and charismatic Laurent. [via]

I’m not trying to be racist but I didn’t expect them to get an African-American actor to play Laurent. Maybe because I just expected them to get all White actors and also in my mind, I assumed that all the vampires in the book were White. The movie is going to be interesting that’s for sure.

I’m also surprised that they’ve chosen an African-American to play Laurent as well. I’ve always pictured Laurent as white.

i think it will work!!! hes not a big part anyways, so i don’t think it will make a huge difference! …But having that guy from harry potter be Edward is going to ruin the movie totally 100%!!!!!!!!!!! He does not fit, or look like Edward at all!!! the guy playing james on the other hand, fits Edward PERFECTLY!!! they should just switch roles!!!!!!!

ok, i won’t lie, i thought laurent would be white too. But in a way, this is better. Can you imagine how SCARY this gu is going to be? i think he’s the perfect choice!

i’m not sure how to say this, but i’m black and even i thought that laurent was going to be white, is that wrong?

okay, well, about Edi playing Laurent . . . i’m not going to lie, but i didn’t picture him dark either, but it DID say in Twilight that he had a sickly-ish pale under an olive skin tone. so he may not have been black, but he wasn’t white either. he did have some sort of color to his skin. (i’m not sure if any of you know this but Laurent is pronounced Lore-ahnt. it’s french. just thought you should know if you didn’t already)

Twilight is the best movie i ever watched. I really love the vampire love story theme and i like Bella Swans character.

Kristen Stewart is the perfect Bella .. All around the casting was perfect, everyone had so much so much angst that they fit the story perfectly

i will watch every sequel of Twilight because i find this movie so good. the graphics is good, the cast is good and of course the storyline is great.
