Weekend Soiree #10: A game of comment interaction
The rules are easy. I will ask a question. The first person who comments will answer my question, and will leave a question for the next person to answer. This next person will answer that question, and leave a question for the next next person to answer. I am sure you get it! 
To make things more fun, the questions have to reflect the chosen theme. For example, if the theme is “WEDDINGS,” all questions should be relate to anything wedding-y. Would you rather get married underwater or on top of Mt. Everest? Is there anyone you wished interrupted your wedding, The Graduate style? As much as possible, let’s not repeat the questions for added fun! You are also welcome to play more than once!

my mother is a fan of FPJ, so the first movie i have watched in theater is one of Da King’s movie
i can’t remember the title, basta what i can remember is his love interest committed suicide because the “bad guys” turned her to a prostitute..
Question, what are the type of movies that you collect in DVD (original he he)?

i have a dvd collection now of love stories such as the notebook, if only, the serendipity etc.. for tagalog, i have MSKM series (Maging Sino Ka Man) haha!

Two recent movies come to mind: The Game Plan and Bahay Kubo. Both talked about family.
Is popcorn a must have when you watch a movie in the theaters? If not, what is?

Do you read up on the movie before you go watch it at the cinemas?

Yes! I particularly like to see movies of books I’ve already read. Sometimes I surprise myself when the movie is exactly how I imagined it while reading the book, it’s fun that way.

There are quite a few that I repeatedly watch.
My Girl, Little Women, You’ve Got Mail, The Sound of Music… to name a few. Simply because they are my favorite!

One of the movies that had made an impact on me when I first saw it was “Grand Canyon” – it just got me started thinking about my life at that time, how things happen for a reason and how to just let things BE.

Definitely Cate Blanchett…..she’s gorgeous, talented, clever, a fantastic mum, humble……the list just goes on and on!!!! I’m all for her winning an Oscar this week!
What is your favourite book that’s been made into a movie?

Memoirs of a Geisha it is, although I still like the book than the movie (which is most often the case). The book detailed the ways of a geisha in ways the movie did not.
What line(s) in a movie is/are your most favorite and why?

In the movie, ‘Once’ (yeah, yeah… I’m still hung up on it and incidentally it won Best Foreign Film in last night’s Spirit Awards), when the guy asked the girl to stay the night, she said, ‘Fuck this. Thanks for the Hoover. I’ll see you around.’
I love how she said all her disappointment in the guy’s erroneous assumption that he could ask her that when all she was in for was the music he was creating that touched her and caught her so completely. She wasn’t indignant or judgmental or abusive in return. She just matter-of-factly let him know they weren’t on the same page. It’s simple and it’s brilliant.
My question: Of all the movies recent and past, which one do you feel depicts your life story the most?

It’s hard to say which movie depicts my life as a whole, but the first thing that came to my mind was…a Tagalog film! Hehe
Sana Maulit Muli (I still Loooove Aga!) : I’ve always been in a Long distance relationship. In total for about 10 years of my life. With (Maybe- Haha lost track) about Six guys in my entire life. And then, my now hubby actually followed me in Sydney…. But with Lea’s struggles and all, I could relate like having been alone here 2 years before he followed.
Which movie confused you, still confuses you to date? Like a movie you can never seem to understand/or get, maybe because it was too scientific, or too out of this world, or simply something too crazy? (Feel free to interpret the Q however way you like)

I really couldn’t get The Talented Mr. Ripley. Sorry! I wonder if I was too tired to really appreciate the movie as it got a lot of raves. I know it was good but I just couldn’t get it. Hard to explain.
So have you seen “No Country for Old Men” yet? It won Best Picture at the Academy Awards!

I saw it on a special engagement, or one week before it’s regular run in the states. NCFOM, like Talented Mr Ripley, are simple movies – although it’s difficult to understand why their villains do what they’re doing.

Question: Have you soooo looked forward to a movie and then only to become disappointed at how it turned out? What movie was this?

I was sooo looking forward to I Am Legend because I think Will Smith is a really good actor. But the movie turned out to be a let-down for me, especially after all the hype that came before it was finally shown.
Question: Have you ever come away from a movie where you liked one character so much you started acting like him/her for real in the next few days?

Yup. Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink. I loved her character so much and in fact, had a Ducky of my own. He was her best guy pal who secretly liked her. Yeah, yeah I had a Ducky but his “crush” wasn’t kept a secret. I also started dressing like her in a kind of cool and quirky way for about a year which really pissed my parents off
Question : How do you deal with moviegoers who are noisy and irritating? Do you shush them or do you just try to ignore them?

if in case i encounter obnoxious movie goers, I don’t shush them coz I’ve experienced that if one person shush a noisy group (which is more commonly a group of rowdy teenagers) another group shushes back and creates more distraction, but if I am close to the noisy group, I would whisper to them to take it down a notch.
My question: Have you ever been so bored in a movie that you ended up walking out on it? if so what is that movie?

Yes! The Medallion. I think that starred Jackie Chan and Claire Forlani. Walked out on it. I also walked out on Bounce (Ben Affleck, Gwyneth) and Starsky & Hutch. Was so bored!
Have you ever taken a call inside a movie house?

I forgot the title but it featured the loveteam of angelu and bobby andrews, hehe. College days, a friend persuaded me to watch with her, I have some extra money, so off I go and I hated it more.
