Weekend Soiree #3: A game of comment interaction
The rules are easy. I will ask a question. The first person who comments will answer my question, and will leave a question for the next person to answer. This next person will answer that question, and leave a question for the next next person to answer. I am sure you get it! 
To make things more fun, the questions have to reflect the chosen theme. For example, if the theme is “Water,” all questions should relate to water. How do you like your water — hot or cold? Do you have a fear of deep waters? As much as possible, let’s not repeat the questions for added fun! You are also welcome to play more than once!

my microwave. I find my microwave so useful. I can heat up anything there. I could even cook simple dishes like poached egg, mashed potato, bake muffins and a lot. so I considered my microwave so valuable for me.

I don’t like washing the dishes because my hands are sensitive to dish washing detergents.

chopping onions and mincing garlic.
i always, always end up crying in chopping onions.
i don’t like mincing garlic (and chopping onions) bec its so hard to get rid of the garlic scent on my fingers.

what is a kitchen chore that you love the most and why?
but cant wait when i get back home and scour the farmers market.
when i come back from the farmers market, most of the vegetables are fresh and still have earth (soil) on them, i love spending time cleaning, cutting, storing .. I hate those pre cut vegetables and salad you get at the supermarket.
for me this is so calming as opposed to my frenetic life. so i really set time aside doing this.
oh i have not done this for a while the past weeks i just sit down for my lunch and dinner chef doing the cooking

Common to most Filipino homes is a dirty kitchen and that’s where most of the cooking happens. My family eat our meals in the real kitchen where we share stories about our day while watching either the early morning show for breakfast, a toss between Wowowee and Eat Bulaga for lunch and Lastikman for dinner. The real dining room is used on Sundays, holidays or when we have guests. Otherwise, the kitchen is where the family sit down to eat.

From Rach: Does your kitchen have a theme or design that is prominent?
It’s silver, brown and white. The apartment’s theme. I guess when I buy appliances and decor I make sure it fits within the given theme already.
From Em: Maybe somebody meant messy instead of dirty! It could be the messiest place at home but the quickest one to be cleaned anyway for hygienic purposes!

Yes, Toni we have one unwashed item in the kitchen, the rag…we “never” really want a pile up kahit walang ipis at langgam sa Canada…(actually meron, and that’s for another blog entry)

What’s my fave dish to cook? I’ll have to answer by saying that anything with tomatoes init is my fave . . .spanish rice, goulash, spaghetti, lasagna, etc. etc. etc . ..yum, yum!

Sometimes I use the mop but mostly I make wisik wisik the floor cleaner then step on the rag (basahan) then slide along the floor in the process cleaning it. hehe

My answer: Unisex! It’s not too girly. Except for the peach & green drawers that my landlady has installed, I didn’t decorate my kitchen. It has a purely functional look–no flowery and frilly stuff.

i would love an island, a dish washer, a deluxe stainless steel fridge, stove , etc …
Oh you just asked for one…. If I have unlimited budget…I’d redecorate the whole kitchen.

I have a stand mixer though I rarely use it as I don’t really know how to make. I’m more of a cook.

Korean Beef Stew. I usually soften the beef for hours on end, but then, I usually wander off to read a book or do stuff on the PC while it’s cooking so I’m not sure it totally counts. If it doesn’t, probably labor intensive stuff like large batches of lumpiang shanghai, since I usually prepare them for freezing.
What did you eat for lunch and did you like it?

i ate shrimp pesto but not in our kitchen (some restaurant) and i didn’t enjoy it. makes me wish i simply cooked something that i would enjoy.
