Who should we be more afraid of: man or nature?
Last month, there was the explosion at Glorietta 2. Rumors floated that it was a bomb, that it was an accident caused by a gas leak. No final word has been given.
In early November, a bomb exploded at the House of Representatives in Quezon City.
In mid-November, several storms came our way, wreaking havoc in provinces, particularly Bicol. Typhoon Mina has killed many in her wake.
Two days ago, an earthquake caught some parts of Metro Manila and Luzon by surprise.
Today, yet another coup is ongoing, led by Sen. Trillanes and his camp. The battlecry? To withdraw support from the government because of its corruption and strive for a brand new Philippines.
As I type this entry, I see on TV that a military tank has rammed into the entrance of Manila Peninsula, which the members of the Magdalo group have seized since this morning. Tear gas was sprayed earlier by the police and military forces. Several media men were trapped inside the hotel.

Who should we be more afraid of: man or nature? Both are extremely beautiful, but also both highly capable of wrath.
Both can be comfortably serene, but also surprisingly ruthless.
Both can be nurturing and loving, but also threatening and full of hatred.
So who should we be more afraid of?
The answer is up to you.
Just remember one thing: man is always capable of CHOICE.

perhaps there goes the answer, man is capable of choice. he can decide on how he acts whereas nature cannot. natural occurences cannot be controlled, but man’s action can be altered. nature can wreak havoc because it is in it’s temperament, i would like to believe that is not in man’s. nature cannot imagine nor think of the consequences but man can do that. and man is also capable of preventing himself from doing anything that can do harm not only to himself but to others as well.

nature for me. somehow, i have been able to AVOID people who may do me harm (mentally and physically). But, nature? with global warming and all, who knows?

unfortunately despite that human beings have the power to choose..we normally make haphazard choices..men kill men erroneously for whatever reasons..the manner to which they destroy life reduces men to animal despite the fact that men have already undergone so many evolution…i fear men..but in the end…it is always nature that has the last word to say..when it takes it takes..

This is a good question Toni. I’m afraid of both. Nature can be calm then extremely violent at one point. Some men can be devoid of emotion and really heartless.
