Great idea, that would be a fun blog to follow. At work, we have this cubic book called The Writer’s Block—perfect for jumpstarting ideas. Lalo na pag may deadline ka ng alas-dos ng hapon…like now

Hey that book sounds interesting!!!

Sa desk ko meron akong isang box ng Crayola, Pictionary cards, maraming papel at ballpen. Doodling a lothelps with writer’s block. Hehe.

and here is my story..
as for my photo blog its a picture that says a story i titled it IMPROMPTU
my photos there are not set up unlike my food blog
impromptu a flow...no preparation just a constant flow of life how i see it

like you i see a thing a photo hear conversation then the story flows...
here is the best advice ever from my english teacher about writing.. USE ALL THE SENSES... FEEL HEAR TASTE .. WRITE.....

YES! Engage your senses when you write and you'll be even more inspired!

I was thinking about this thing a couple of weeks back … I said, you know its hard to write something at the start but once I get an intro, I’m good … words just start flowing …. I will hop over soon to check this out and hopefully, it will help me once I ran into writer’s block.

my mind too tired at this stage toni love.. i have been zipping here and there the past days
i have other blog which is not very public there i write some stories.....
time come will share it.

this concept is explored in the movie "Finding Forrester" with Sean Connery playing the lead role. the movie is about a gifted but disinterested student who accidentally (maybe serendipitiously) found a mentor in a recluse but popular and award-winning author who has written only one but critically acclaimed book.

the character (Forrester) itself is based on the life of the reclusive author J.D. Salinger who wrote only one book: "The Catcher in the Rye".

from the movie:

Forrester: "You must write your first draft with your heart...you rewrite with your head. The first rule to writing is to write, not think!

I haven't seen that film but have heard raves about it. Thanks for the lead. I heartfully agree with that quote from Forrester. Do write with your heart and edit later!!! That way the purity of your ideas do not get lost in the first draft.

you know what, we were just talking about something like this sa aming writing club sa university eh, kasi most of us find it most difficult to start kapag nagsusulat.:)

this is so interesting. i’ve never heard of ‘writing prompts’ before. i’ll try it one, but i still don’t think i get the whole concept of it. could you please explain when you get the chance? thanks toni-tones!

Hi Kat! Writing prompts are thought starters, idea jumpers, brain joggers that hopefully get you inspired to be creative and write something! They may come in the form of a plot (you supply the details), a couple of words (you build the associations and weave them together), pictures (I used to do this here in Wifely Steps and will do it again in What’s Your Story?), or like an introduction to a story (similar to The Yellow Notebook, my first writing prompt in WYS). They’re really interesting to write, and the stories that come out of it, whether they are songs, poetry, pictures, essays, etc., are even more interesting. I hope I explained it well enough. If you have any questions, let me know!

...and your heart started to pound harder in your chest with each succeding turn of page until your hand finally touch the last one and you became sentiently aware that you were no longer alone on that cold, cobblestoned London street being washed at the moment by the drizzle whose symphonic and mesmerizing sound prevented you from hearing the stealthy approach of the tall stranger clad in black raincoat that seemed to be worn more as a cover from scrutiny than a protection from the weather, and whose eyes, under the brim of a felt hat pulled low,glowed to claim the only indication that there was a human inside all the trappings that receded with the night even as he spoke in a voice that seemed to make the rain a little more colder.

"That is mine."

with a start, your face spun halfway of a turn and your own eyes gazed into his but the pull of the book on your own sordid curiosity compelled you to finish it and read up to the last word, ignoring the man's extended arm which you thought was reaching up to grab the book but if you had paid a closer attention you would have noticed that the hand couldn't have grabbed something. It wasn't empty.

you read the last word and instantly knew what the book was. and you knew who he was. but the shock of the sudden realization wasn't what made you drop the book on the stony street where the rainwater that now dropped on the pages mingled with the fresh blood that seemed to come with the rain.

the diluted blood stained the pages and the ink ran but the last word was still clear and readable:

"JACK"

Oh my oh my oh my. I will write a proper reply later on. But I just had to type this in really quick: THAT WAS AWESOME. FRIGGIN' AWESOME. WOWWWWWW.
