On Vacation
Hi everyone! I arrived in L.A. a few days ago and I’ve been having a blast! I’ve attended a wedding, gone to Universal Studios, to Long Beach, eaten at the popular In and Out Burger place, gone shopping at an outlet store, and lots more. While being all touristy is great, the BEST part of this trip is this: reconnecting with relatives. Hay, ang sarap ng feeling.
I’ll be updating this blog when I get back to Manila, so that’ll be during the last week of September. For now, I’m using my two weeks here to catch up with my cousins, uncles and aunts, and bonding with my Mom and grandmother too.
Meanwhile, I check my e-mail almost every night so if you need to reach me, just e-mail away. For now, I have to get back and do some more reconnecting.

you should visit the used-book stores in downtown Long Beach especially McDonalds’ Book Store and Acres of Books ( they’re not that far from each other). Every time I’m in the area I go to these stores. And almost every time I’m in McDonalds, I would see about a dozen boxes (balikbayan boxes) full of books and ready to be shipped to an address in Quezon City Phil. I’ve always wondered if it was an address of a library or another used-book store. Part of me wishes that it is a library. It is a mystery that maybe you can help me solve.
If you can stay till the end of the month, San Francisco Library is also having a week-long booksale. You pay 3 dollars for a grocerybag-full of books of your choice.
what’s your itenerary? It would be nice to meet you in person if your schedule is not too hectic.Any chance you’re coming to San Francisco? Or Portland? Maybe Seattle? I could meet you in any of these places. I’ll even consider coming to Southern California . Send me an e-mail.
I suggest you visit Getty’s Museum, especially the one by Richard Meier.

Enjoy L.A. It would have been nice if we could meet. I’m flying there on the first week of October to visit my grandma…maybe next time we’ll meet. Take care.
