What is this?

What do you call them?
No need to peel them!

What do you call this fruit? They look like tiny oranges and are a little bit bigger than calamansi. No need to peel or slice these little things. Just pop one into your mouth or bite right into it. It is citrusy sweet and very refreshing! I was told it also soothes a sore throat. Now if only I know what it’s called. Perhaps you do?

  20. karina Says:

hello! kiat kiat ang tawag namin dito. =) Matamis at masarap. =)

  21. purplegirl Says:

they’re not kumquats! i just got back from San Francisco and bought two kilos of kumquats from the organic market. kumquats are like kalamansi with subdivisions inside and big seeds. the rind is just like kalamansi except that it’s orange. also, they’re so sour like kalamansi. so i’d go with two of the commenters that said they’re kiat kiat. of course, i’ve never seen nor eaten kiat kiat. but those are definitely NOT kumquats.

  22. tulip Says:

Your final link, goes to a description of a kumquat, but you said it’s a kiat-kiat.?? Anyway, that is actually kumquat, a kiat-kiat is like a miniature ponkan, you can’t eat the rind. Kumquat is eaten, whole. kumquat is great to use for desserts.
