Aww. I don’t know if I would be happy or what…I was amused at how he got to fly…but I felt sad at the same time. Hmmm. But animation-wise, it was great.

hm, maybe it’s because i’m in a dark mood lately, but what came to mind was that “flying is just the same as falling”. it prompts you to think: are you flying? or are you actually falling?

That was a very awe inspiring animation. For me I think the little Kiwi just never gave up, he went through life despite the numerous obstacles in his path. As for soaring up in the sky despite the kiwi being a flightless bird well isn’t it so liberating to simply pursue your dream? Way to go little kiwi.

Hey, I watched this too with my little one and my hubs beside me.
Dreamers dream and Doers Do. So he had a dream and wanted to make a reality of it. It doesn’t matter how he achieved it but he did anyway. I will go for a happy ending…whatever it might have been.

I just finished watching the video with two of my daughters, the oldest (14) and the youngest (9). Just because it was an animation, the initial reaction was, “oh how cute!”….which led to “ahah!!! I see what he’s doing!”……which eventually led to “oh nooo!!”. When I looked at my younger daughter, she had tears coming out the side of her eyes. This led to a discussion about following your dreams even if the consequences will eventually be bad for you. That it’s the process of getting there that is the reward in itself. Sagot niya, yeah, but it doesn’t have to be that way. The thud at the end may be that he made a screen of trees at the end that broke his fall.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. My old mind thought he was a goner for good. But the younger and more hopeful minds always see a happily ever after ending.

Hi Toni. Thanks for sharing that very moving animation clip. It somehow reminds me that a little dream can always come true as long as you learn to think outside of the box, combine some guts and determination and a little creativity.

So all that work was for naught? Did Kiwi create an illusion of accomplishments to make himself feel good? Or was he just trying to make the best out of what he had? I don’t know what to make of it just yet. I felt proud when he started flying. I felt sad when he shed a tear.

It’s like we all know where we’re headed anyway. Might as well make the best of it.
