10 Waking up Yoga

Thanks to Christianne for this fantastic challenge. She knows I’m a huge fan of The Sims! I enjoyed this a LOT! I haven’t played The Sims in ages so this was very much welcome. If you’re a fan of The Sims like I am, I am sure you understand my fascination with the game and the details that come with the storytelling. Here’s a day in the life of my Sim named Aurora.

One New Ref Door!

Final Ref Door Petite‘s ref is the newest addition to The Ref Door Project. Her ref door is the product of neatness and quirkiness. :) And I absolutely love her Van Gogh magnets. LOVELY. Then I saw her cute Lego magnets of Catwoman, Robin and Joker — eek! I loved them! Check out Petite’s Ref Door!

What does your refrigerator door look like? Take a pic of it and post it on your blog! Let me know when you do so I can write an entry with links to your ref door posts. If you don

You Lucky Frog!

Luck

I heard that frogs are lucky. Someone said frogs are lucky because they just take in food — take in, take in, take in — and don’t poop it out. So it’s like them keeping their wealth intact. Money won’t escape. Another version is that a frog is a symbol of abundance because it lays a lot of eggs. It’d be interesting to know more what brought that belief about. If you know the story behind those frogs, let me know. I find it really interesting!

And if you know the meaning of those frogs in the pic above, share them with me too! I bought the figure from Vietnam months ago only because I got inspired by what our tour guide told us about frogs and because I like buying things in twos.

(The truth? I hate frogs. Whenever I see even a tiny one jumping around in the grass, I totally freak out.)

Do you follow feng shui? I’m quite open-minded when it comes to those things so if you’ve got something to share, I’d love to learn from you! I’m interested in what those cranes and turtles mean, room arrangements, etc. Even the cat with the waving arm in stores!

Pyro Did Meet Batista

Wishes do come true. Bless all of you who helped contact many foundations and key people, who e-mailed details of those who can help make the meeting possible, who prayed for Pyro’s health and wishes, who wrote about Pyro’s wish, who participated in our blog and email brigade, who believed in the power of wishes of coming true. Thank you, Wish Ko Lang and GMA 7. Thank you. Thank you, Batista.

Mec wrote about it here. More details to follow. For now, a big thanks to everyone. Thank you for your positivity. Thank you, Lord.

Take a power nap.
Go to my Bloglines feeds and see what’s up.
Browse through a magazine.
Sit back in the couch and just gaze out the window.

Iska’s Challenge: What Do I Hate?

“Take a picture of yourself wearing the type of clothes/color you hate most and write about it…”
Iska

I have a love-hate relationship with 'closed' shoes. They’re pretty shoes, aren’t they? I love them… and I hate them at the same time! I much prefer open-toed shoes. My shoe cabinet is composed mostly of flip-flops, sandals, open-toed heels or slip-ons. I only wear closed shoes if I’m in need of a pedicure or if I’m going to a formal meeting. I don’t like wearing socks either. I think my feet were made to walk naked on the sandy beaches of Boracay. If my feet could take me there right now, they would! I’d take walking in flip-flops on a beautiful beach over owning the most expensive, most beautiful closed shoes anytime!

P.S. I’ve yet to answer some of the other challenges. Soon! Promise! Soon!

All New 7 Wonders of the World?

Have you heard about the New 7 Wonders of the World? This is from their site:

Now, just as Pierre de Coubertin revived the Olympic Games in 1896 with his modern version of the competition, New7Wonders founder Bernard Weber is seeking to revive the concept of the 7 Wonders of the World with this ambitious global campaign, the New 7 Wonders of the World.
The key difference is that, this time around, they will not be chosen by one man, but rather by millions of people all over the world…

Of the Ancient 7 Wonders of the World, only one remains — the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. If you want to visit the other six, you can either time travel or look at this site. These are the 21 finalists for the New 7 Wonders of the World. Think the Banaue Rice Terraces are part of the list? ;)

Check out their site to learn more. I’m still thinking about which one to vote for…

Terms of Endearment

Terms of Endearment

A term of endearment is usually a nickname or word that holds a special meaning expressing affection or fondness.

When I was a little girl, my Dad fondly called me “Ambo.” I’m not sure if it means “little boy” or if it’s just a boy’s name. Sometimes he’d call me Ambrosia. Then he’d call my sister Procopia. Hee hee. My Mom once called me her “Little Rosebud.” When I was still single and living with them, she’d send me a text message with “Wake up, my little rosebud!”

Even before H and I got married, we were already calling each other Husby and Wifey. Mush alert! We already knew we were meant to spend the rest of our lives together.

My best friend calls me “Muppet,” “Muffin,” or “Poo Poo.” Ha ha! Only my best friend can get away with that. The rest of my friends call me “Toni Girl” or “Tones.”

Do you have any special nicknames? Any terms of endearment that you once hated but now love? I’m sure even the most unmushy person in the world would love to be called something special.

And whose heart doesn’t melt when they hear The Cuppycake Song? Lyrics after the cut.
