50 is the Magic Number
A conversation between my friend Ria and I, a couple of days after we bought our crystal bracelets:
Toni: “O ano nagwork ba yun crystal bracelet mo?”
Ria: “Hindi ko nga alam eh! Yun sa ‘yo?”
Toni: “Siguro. Yun turquoise bracelet ko, para daw yun for correcting body aligment and eye disorders… eh… okay naman ako ngayon. Tapos yun jade bracelet ko, para sa pera diba. Siguro nagwork kasi sabi ni Mama iti-treat daw nya ako sa Book Fair.”
Ria: “Ayos!”
Toni: “Tapos yun kay Bok, lapiz lazuli, for wisdom. Ayun may naisip na siyang subject for her thesis.”
Ria: “Galing!”
Toni: “Eh ikaw? Opal diba? Spiritual guidance?”
Ria: “Wala, wala, hindi nagwowork. Ang nag-work yun magic towel na binili ko.”
Toni: “Ha?”
Ria: “Oo totoo pala siya. I-fit mo lang sa head mo tapos tuyo na yun hair mo nang mabilis. Yun lang ata yun magic sa akin eh.”
Toni: “Wow, to think tig-fi-fifty pesos lang yan lahat… fifty pesos yun bracelet, fifty pesos yun magic towel… fifty is the magic number.”
Ria: “Korek!”
Heeheehee. Just another conversation that makes sense only to me and my friends. Don’t you love those conversations?

hehehe – it’s very comforting to have those conversations.. i remember one with a friend of mine:
:a kitchen conversation:
“should i have coffee or tea?”
“coffee” dean said
“why?” i asked.
“anybody who deals with the web should drink coffee… if you’re an architect, a psychiatrist or a lawyer.. you drink tea…” he said.
“but im a graphic designer….” i objected
“it doesnt matter.. you still deal with the web…. coffee…” he said, making a point.

definitely. here’s mine (two days ago): a friend of mine dropped by dito sa house tapos here’s how our ‘conversation’ went…
T: mama meeeeee!!
M: mama teeeee!!
T: waaaahhhh! yung ano namin na-ano na!
M: talaga???
T: oo!!
M: wow, go!
T: o sige, bye!!
pagkakita ko kay hubby, nakakunot ang noo niya. parang ‘anong klaseng usapan yun’?
