Jane’s Challenge: Seeing Red

“Paint your toenails red.” – Jane

Back in college, my friends and I would paint our nails in lots of colors. If there was a UAAP game, we’d show our school spirit by painting our nails metallic blue. I had a seatmate once who sneered at my freshly polished nails and said it was juvenile. Che ka diyan! Anyway, there was one time when we were into this reggae vibe so we painted red, yellow and green stripes on one nail. Or paint one nail red, the next yellow, the next green. Fun experiments!

When I started working, I stopped getting manicures since I type a lot for work. My nails would always get scratched within an hour of a fresh manicure ! So I decided to save myself the trouble and stuck to pedicures instead.

I like the colors tan, coral, pink… light and dainty colors. It’s been a long time since I’ve had my nails painted red. I can’t carry red well. But because Jane challenged me, and I’m up for a good challenge, I decided to go red!

Seeing Red Ready to Go!

I painted my own toenails this time; another good way to spend a rainy afternoon at home. The end result? I felt very womanly afterwards. Oh what dark red nail polish can do! I don’t think I wouild’ve gone back to painting my toenails red had it not been for Jane’s challenge. So, thanks Jane! I had fun!

I think red toe nails are liberating! I used to be like you, I veered towards the nuetral colours. But now I love my chanel rouge noir nail polish. Speaking of nails, I just had my acrylic nails taken off so my nails look awful. I’m growing them out. But when I had my acrylic nails they looked fantabulous! Too bad they are expensive to maintain though.

    hehehe:) cute!

back in gollege din, my barkada and i would paint our nails in different colors. minsan,iba-iba per fingernail. ang saya. we used the water based ones kasi we (muslims) are not allowed to have nail polish on our nails kasi hindi nababasa kapag nagpe-perform ng ablution before prayers.:)

Go Toni! I usually always have polish on my toes. My favorite color to paint them is a fire red (orange-ish red) that is sparkly (metalic). My skin is pale, so it works well with me. I also like creamy farmyard pink, sparkly girlish pink, and sparkly sandstone bronze. If I could only keep my fingernails all one length, though. As busy as I stay, it seems just when they get long, one or more break. Right now my left hand has long nails and my right has medium length. I’ll take your challenge, though – and add another coat of red to my already red toes and fingers! :(

hi toni! i used to paint my toenails a different color each, too! that was back in college. hehe. i think we went to college at around the same time and that was the uso back then. that was a lot of fun. :) i haven’t tried painting my toenails red since i got married because my hubby doesn’t like dark nail polish. but maybe i should have them done in red again, just to do your challenge. and i need to get a pedicure na talaga. so, off to the salon!
