The Linguini Experiment

I just threw in a bunch of stuff into the pot and came up with this. Blaaah. Looks better than it tastes. I really don’t like using spaghetti sauce! It’s too sweet for me. Next time I’ll stick to tomato sauce since I like my pasta sauce a bit sour.

So here’s what I did: I stirred in a pack of spaghetti sauce (sweet-style), some olives, tuna, garlic, salt, pepper and a bay leaf with the linguini. Simmer, simmer, simmer, let the flavors come together. It was okay. Pwede na.
Buti nalang may olives. I LOVE green olives. They saved the dish for me. When I’m craving for something salty, I just get a green olive from the jar and it satisfies my craving. They’re also very good with a glass of red wine and some cubes of cheese. Sarap.
After this linguini experiment bombed out, the olives were my refuge. Hahaha ang drama!
Thank goodness for green olives!

interesting combination there – hmmm linguine.. with blue shell crab, white wine, bit of cream and fresh chili! – hmmmm
now, with this sweet spaghetti sauce thing – is that the filipino style one? i kinda miss that, but can’t eat too much of it as i prefer the authentic italian tomato base sauce. hmmmm
you’ve inspired me to cook again
thanks.

hi toni. i don’t ever use ready made spaghetti sauce for my pasta. i like getting out the flavors with natural ingredients like tomato, shrimp or seafood juice, capers, basil, pesto. etc and of course dollops of olive oil

We’re the same… i love green olives, black olives… i bought a cup full the other day and you’ve just reminded me of them. It’s a spicy one with dried chillies… yum!

Hi. Your pasta from the picture looks very good. I personally do not like htose “ready” pasta sauce… why don’t you make your own pasta sauce from tomato sauce in can and you cook it with extra-virgin olive oil, onions and at the end you add olives and parsley, salt, pepper…
Ciao.
