Afternoon conversations

Conversations over tea are the best! It’s a warm afternoon. You and I are meeting up at a cafe for the first time. Don’t worry, you’ll know it’s me — small girl with the messy hair, black t-shirt, a bead necklace, blue jeans and flip-flops. I wave at you and wave back. After a quick hug, we settle down into two cozy chairs with a small round table between us. Are you comfortable? Good, that makes two of us. I’ll order a pot of hot tea and a sandwich (crabstick and mango with greens and wasabi mayo on whole wheat… mmm!). What would you order? And what do you think we’d talk about?

I’ll order the same. We can share tales about our travels. Which place is the best place to go to for a particular season. We can go and discuss kids and how they make us smile. We then talk about how blogging has made us good friends, yet, we havent even met…not even shared a pot of hot tea.

But for now, this comment box is the only way we can be one – and remain one til the day I set my eyes on a small petite girl with the messy well coiffed hair (na hinangin sa labas), black t-shirt, a bead necklace, blue jeans and flip-flops.

and yeap, i am looking forward to this day =)

before that meet up, i’ll come up with my list of the tips I wanted to get from you (cooking, cleaning, etc) then I’d ask them one by one. hehehehe

I’d get my usual – chai tea with soy and a cheese pretzel. You’d laugh at my attempts of being crafty shown in the goofy magnets I’ve made you. I’d tell you what we’d talk about but ssshhh it’s a secret!

  6. Pia Says:

i’ll have a chai latte and a mushroom quiche or a plain croissant please! care to talk about the latest campaign you worked on and how crazy the clients or the accounts were? or, there will always be the quintessential 20-something writer question – are awards your measurement for creativity? LOL.

I will be the petite or rather short woman with my hair tied in a ponytail clad in a t-shirt with jeans and flats. We would talk about the latest movies showing at the cinemas, recommend which novels to read. Maybe you can give me some valuable household tips and tasty easy to follow recipes I can attempt to try. God knows I’m not an expert in the kitchen nor do I maintain a spiffy clean place like you. Oh I would order a cold Mocha frost, an almond croissant or a blueberry cheesecake. Heh maybe both because I’m matakaw but I promise to share the cake with you! :)

  8. Yupki Says:

I’ll order a pot of tea too and a grilled cheese sandwich (weird combo?) and perhaps we’ll talk about movies and places we’ve been too. And I’d definitely ask you about food!

  9. xtianne Says:

I’d order tea and cheesecake. We’d talk about how wonderful our husbands are, and about our common interests – do you still love Shakey’s garlic & cheese pizza? :)

  10. Zita Says:

Just catch up with what’s been happening in our lives since we met ages ago. Maybe introduce you to my son and H. I’ll have a strong latte, with brownies for a snack.

when we meet up, there’s sure to be two small women sharing a table laden with food! :-) i’ll order a cup of steaming-hot coffee, a bottle of water, and a light, fluffy crepe filled with banana slices and Nutella, topped with vanilla ice cream, and drizzled with chocolate sauce.

although we’ve never met before, we’ll most probably dive right into a conversation about travel and careers. we’ll share anecdotes about our husbands and the things they do that make us laugh and smile. we’ll also talk about things that life has shown us and taught us. and of course, we’ll talk about food – food we’ve eaten, food we’ve cooked, food that we’ve heard about and want to try eating/cooking someday. :-)

It’s been so long I don’t know where to start! Siguro I’ll ask you what you did in college, tsika about your love life and my love life.. Our thoughts, dreams, frustrations at kung ano ano pa. I’m sure na hindi tayo mawawalan ng topics. hee hee… One day siguro no?

  13. iska Says:

i will order what you ordered as i am not so familiar with what’s good back home. (i am thinking we are meeting somewhere in metro manila.) we may 1st get started by telling each other we are both small girls who go out in shirts and blue jeans. you might ask me about life in communist china. then start talking about those posts you made that I read and commented on then maybe talk about other things that will probably come out from those small little things…

  14. vina Says:

caramel frappe and begian waffle for me! i’m basically shy but when i open up, i can just be the silliest person ever. we can talk about absolutely nothing…
