No Regrets
I should’ve bought new polos since my office wardrobe needs to be badly updated. I should’ve bought new black heels since my current ones are worn too much. I should’ve bought a new shower curtain since the one we have is too short and water splashes on the rest of the bathroom floor when we bathe. I should’ve gone for that much-needed facial. I should’ve stocked up on bathroom stuff because my toilet paper supply is nearing its end.
Here’s what I bought instead:
Wifey by Judy Blume. Elegance by Kathleen Tessaro. Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld. Night by Elie Weisel.
Powerbooks is having a warehouse sale and so I got the stuff for 20% off. Yey! I would’ve bought more had I not imposed a budget on myself. I. needed. control. and. I. got. it. The warehouse sale has been extended till April 1. If you want directions, just e-mail me.
And while I have a lot should’ve’s, do I regret my purchases?
Naaah.

Haha, you sound like me when I’m in a bookstore. Somehow, I can rationalize buying a ton of books while finding other “useful” things expensive or unnecessary.

hahaha
ang kulit sis… but then again, whatever really makes us happy and whatever enrishes our lives the most right?

Well I didn’t control myself at all … simply splurged! Yay but books are good stuff really. We need to feed our mind not our bodies.

At least you know you’ll have hours of countless entertainment with the new reads! I may be squeezing that last bit of toothpaste but I have lots of scrapbook supplies

Haha, I once blew about P10 thou one year during the overlapping Powerbooks/National sale, when I haven’t even bought a pair of shoes for two years and running, and I already have a roomful of unread books and a mile-long books-to-be-read waitlist. I’m glad to know I’m not alone in this quirk…

yikes….i’m exactly the same with books!! i think the term “bookworm” may be a little of an understatement though, i dub thee “biblioholic”. haha….

jennie : Yes! I just emailed you the directions! Hope you make it!
firefly|zephyr : Whew! I’m glad I’m not the only one! I can spend a lot on one book and cringe at the thought of having to spend that much on cleaning materials. “What? This whole basket of detergents, cleaning supplies, etc etc etc cost a thousand pesos?! That’s one Nigella book!” I’m pretty warped that way. Thank goodness you can relate!
delish : Yup, control’s the key! It’s hard lang! But once you master willpower, hayyy ang sarap ng feeling.
aloi : I love Judy Blume! I read some stuff of hers growing up. And thanks for thinking of sharing your book with me! That thought is a gift enough for me. Thanks!
jojo : Congrats! Now go book-hunt some more! Buti nga diyan may Borders. Sana magkaroon din dito.
justice : Hahaahahahaha funnyyyyyyyy!
dexie : Jane Green books?
I haven’t read her yet! You reco’d them to me so they’re on my “books to buy” list!
annabanana : Talaga? Nyeeeerk. Basahin ko na rin tapos share ko sa ‘yo kung disappointed din ako.
lightheaded : Sent it to ya.
Daphne : Agree agree! Feed the brain!
mare : Ah, so what books are to me scrapbook supplies are to you! Yey, you can relate!
tintin : I’ve started on Wifey na, so far so good! Nasa Bacolod ka pala! Bisitahin kita pag pumunta ako diyan ha!
pobs : Welcome!
Kai : Woooah, P10k? Dream ko yan. Book shopping spree!!!!!!!! I too have a lot of unread books but I vow to read them all…someday… *L*
leah : Ah, yes, biblioholis seems to be more appropriate!

hahaha! ganyan din ako! it takes me forever to decide whether to buy a pair of pants or shoes i really like over a certain budget limit, but i will buy books in the next store at double that amount without batting an eyelash. talk about priorities!

Lissa: Elegance was so-so. I’m reading Wifey now — so far, so good. If only I wasn’t so sleepy last night, I would’ve read through the whole book!!! Galing talaga ni Judy Blume. I’m excited to read Prep na. But my goal is to finish one book at a time!
anna penpal: Yahoooo!
