I chanced upon your blog while blog hopping here at work and I was so taken aback to read that MACARONS are now being made by pattiseries in Manila! I am still searching high and low for a good pattiserie here in New York after I discovered how heavenly it was when I tried it at Laduree in Paris, the Salon de Te who claims they invented it. I will definitely visit BIZU when I go home hopefully next year.. Have a happy new year, and I will be back to visit..

Reading this entry was just pure torture.
I’m a chocoholic and your description of SAMBA piqued my curiosity. I’ll definitely try it. And since I’m gonna try out something you recommend, I might as well recommend another dessert to you. Try Pasto’s Torta del Chocolat… oh god, wait, I think I forgot how it’s called but it’s their decadent chocolate cake. I always feel sinful after eating it.

You also mentioned diabetes runs in your family. My grandmother who lives a healthy lifestyle (watches what she eats, avoids anything fattening and sweet, eats vegetables, steamed fish and fruits, does yoga) contracted diabetes recently! You know why? Because she eats lots of fruits. Apparently, the sugar from fruits gave her diabetes. Can you imagine?! I guess too much fruits isn’t healthy after all either.

Hi Toni,

Longtime reader, first-time comment-er. As always, you take great pictures. I usually read your blog around lunchtime at work, and boy, when you post something about food, I could only sigh..the contrast between the food in the pictures and the food on my desk (usually noodles-in-a-cup, hehehe) is unbearable!

Anyway, I hope you continue to do what you’re doing, I hope you and your hubby have a happy Christmas, and I sincerely wish that all of your dreams will be fullfilled in 2006!! You deserve it Toni…
