Our Daily Fruits

H's Fruit Bowl

Have you eaten your fruits today?

I’m certain you already know that eating at least 5 fruits a day can help give you better health. So that I don’t forget my 5 a day, I’ve tried this system out: An apple with breakfast, a banana with lunch, and the fruit bowl in the pic above with dinner. During the day I also make sure to eat as many vegetables as I can.

We’re not getting any younger so we really gotta start eating right somehow.

Note: Per Dr. Emer, the new trend is to Shoot for 9, Aim for 7. Got it! Thanks Dr. E!

sometimes i’m too lazy to peel fruits so i just open a can of fruit cocktail har har…i suddenly miss the “very berry good” variant of “fuzion”!

  2. jeanny Says:

I love eating fruits kaso sometimes, nakakasawa like apples but it’s the banana lacatan na kahit ilang beses kong kainin sa isang araw nde ako magsasawa :D

  3. Toni Says:

eye: Ako rin minsan tinatamad magbalat. When I have extra budget, I order the “Body Cleanser” drink at Fruit Magic. :)
jeanny: Haha! Parehas kayo ng asawa ko. Di rin siya nagsasawa sa lacatan!

  4. Linnor Says:

I agree to eating right. Kaso, I always run out of fruits sa bahay… Puede bang substitute ang eating of carrots, cucumber, tomatoes and lettuce instead of fruits? :D

  5. anj Says:

hey, toni! if dennis comes, or you with him, text niyo ako. hopefully nasa davao ako by that time. make sure to bring lots of fruits pag uwi! and maybe you can try our nefarious durian. hehehe!

some trivia, one of our farm coordinators commented that we should start eating all the fruits that we can kasi baka walang produce next year dahil overabundant this year. so pahinga ang mga trees sa susunod na taon. though it won’t be much of a problem for manila kasi may mga imported fruits dito. here in davao, we’ll feel the price discrepancy when the time comes.

just had about half a kilo of lanzones minutes ago. yum.

  6. Toni Says:

linnor: pwede yun! according to the site i linked, pwede naman ang veggies. ;)
anj:yum lanzones! i love that. thanks for the tip. gotta start eating more and more fruits with that lead!

  7. paz Says:

hi toni! pwede ba a spoonful of fruit salad na lang to complete the 5 fruits a day? he, he.

  8. dexie Says:

yes Ma’am. peaches, bananas, apples and strawberries po ang favorite :)

  9. Dr Emer Says:

The trend now from 5 fruit servings per day is, shoot for 9, aim for 7. The more fruits we eat, the better.

And to answer Paz, no a spoonful of fruit salad does not qualify. We’re talking fresh fruits here, not the canned ones. :)

  10. denden Says:

hi toni! wow, you really know your stuff. ako den i try the 5-a-day plan kasi we are being reminded of it everywhere. like fruit juice cartons (the unconcentrated kind) would have a reminder saying that a glass of fruit juice can count towards it. oh and definitely veg too :)

  11. jey Says:

what i do sometimes is put 4 fruits in a blender (4 seasons?) ala lush with ice and milk. sarap. but i still make sure to get my daily dose of fruits. sabi mo nga, we’re not getting any younger.:)

  12. Toni Says:

paz : I think Dr. Emer just answered ya! :)
    dexie : Mmmm sarap!

Dr Emer : Shoot for 9, aim for 7. Got it! Thanks for that update!

denden : Good for us that our consciousness is raised din diba!

    jey : That’s a great idea! 5-a-day juice shake. :)
