He often said "Iiwan kayo ng asawa niyo pag hindi kayo marunong magluto!" I always hated it when he said that and so I'd often mutter under my breath, "Eh di, di ako mag-aasawa na nag e-expect akong magluto!" I always warn A that I may never cook when we get married and he says it's okay. Anyway, part of the reason why I don't cook is I'm scared that the gas range would explode when I try to start it up with a match (it's the same reason why I don't bake). I also don't like the "talsik." Yet in my little experience in cooking, whenever I have to fry something, I use tongs. Not the kind you use for ice but the looooong ones, usually used for grilling. At least your hand is farther from the pan! And if the oil still reaches your hand, I put on (damn it, it's 2:30am and I can't think of the proper term) cooking mittens.
