Oh no, I burned the water!

Okay, that’s not true. BUT! I’ve had my share of cooking bloopers.

I once tried making sauteed beansprouts. Easy right? I crumbled half a Knorr shrimp cube over the veggies while sauteing. Yummy. Then towards the end of the cooking, I added salt and pepper to taste. SILLY ME. The dish was overly salty and I had to drink a lot of water along with that meal. That shrimp cube was enough to give the beansprouts flavor.

I once attemped to make cheese sticks. Easy right? Slice some cheese lengthwise, wrap it with molo wrapper, deep fry, serve. SILLY ME. I was wondering why I would see just the wrappers floating in oil. I had used Quickmelt cheese. Hello!

I know I’m not alone in this. Have you had any cooking booboos?

i was frying egg. simple lang naman, ‘di ba? i put oil tapos put the egg na rin since iinit rin ‘yun kaya maluluto din (okay lang kahit dumikit). but no! nakalimutan ko palang i-on ang stove! ay, tanga!!!:)

i believed my boss that shrimps, oyster sauce and pineapple juice and tidbits would go well together…

i don’t know how she made it..

Jojo scolded me a little for believing in my boss (she’s wacko)

the dish wouldn’t taste right… i got to crying because it was my first attempt to cook for jojo, unaided by anyone… so i cried and cried and cried…

My Mom stepped in… dunno what she did but we all loved the dish after :D

I did the same mistake with the Knorr cubes. I was making tinolang manok and I dropped one cube and I left it to simmer then I dumped some patis and salt on it… Ang alat!!! I had to dump the soup out and I poured more water and managed to fix it…

hi toni. i can totally relate. i once overcooked my adobong manok because i was too busy reading my emails hehe, naging adobong fried chicken sya and i even charred the sauce pan — poor hubs, he had to clean it out!

Dami kong cooking and baking bloopers rin. I once made different sized choco chip cookies and of course, the smaller ones cooked first and by the time the bigger cookies were done eh sunog na sunog na yung small cookies! kakahiya kasi it set off our fire alarm and there was smoke everywhere! My husband calls our kitchen ground zero whenever I cook or bake! haha

my first attempt at cooking vegetable stew, visayan style: you get the veggies from the market they’re called sari-sari kasi halo halo nang veggies, pechay upo gabi sayote etc. all cut to size, huhugasan na lang ready to cook na. sabay sabay ko ba namang nilagay sa kaldero? what was i thinking? ayun, ang hitsura pagkatapos parang ginatang ewan… yung gabi nalang ang recognizable :)
