Papaya shake anyone?

We bought two ripe baby papayas over the weekend. H likes his papaya cut-up into bite-sized pieces. I made a papaya drink last night. I remember my grandmother making this for me. Having this last night brought back so many wonderful childhood memories.

All I needed was a cup of bite-sized ripe papayas, ice cubes and low-fat milk. I put everything in a tall glass, mashed the papayas a little bit with the back of my spoon and it was all done. Since the papaya was succulently sweet, I didn’t have to put sugar anymore.

This is even better if you put the papayas, crushed ice and milk into a blender. Pour the mixture into a tall chilled glass. Oh, yummy. Add sugar if you want it even sweeter.

P.S. To those who asked what arugula is, click on this to find out! I especially love the line “… its flavor too assertive.” That was right on the dot.
